Some decks tell a story, and this one was decades in the making. Untouched for 20 years, nature had completely taken over—a tree had grown right through the center, rot had weakened the structure, and the surface was buried under layers of algae. As if that wasn’t enough, the railings were covered in 2- to 3-inch diameter barnacles, making it look more like a forgotten shipwreck than a backyard retreat. This was no ordinary restoration—it was a rescue mission. We began by removing nearly half the deck, cutting away the sections that were beyond saving while preserving as much of the original structure as possible. Our chemical treatment process tackled the extreme algae buildup, bringing the wood back to the proper pH balance to ensure a long-lasting stain application. With the surface prepped, we focused on the details that set our work apart—meticulously protecting the house from any overspray while staining, ensuring a clean, professional finish. The transformation was incredible, and this project quickly became a company favorite—one we still talk about today.
