Not all stains are created equal, and not all applications are done the right way. This deck had suffered from a water-based stain gone wrong—applied in extreme heat, it had flash-dried, leading to poor absorption, uneven wear, and a short lifespan. We knew this deck deserved better. We started by sanding the entire surface, removing the failed stain and prepping the wood for a proper restoration. Using our pH-balancing treatment, we ensured the wood was in prime condition to absorb a rich, deep oil-based stain. For this project, we turned to one of our favorite products—Rymar. This premium stain is known for its durability, deep penetration, and long-lasting protection, making it a perfect fit for this deck’s revival. Along the way, we also replaced several rotting boards, ensuring a solid foundation before applying the final beautiful, even coat of Rymar stain. The result? A deck that not only looks incredible but is built to last—properly prepped, properly protected, and ready for years of enjoyment.
