Restoring it wasn’t just a job—it was a challenge that required the right knowledge, tools, and techniques. We started by removing the algae, a time-consuming but necessary process to bring the wood back to a clean, balanced state. However, with IPE, the work doesn’t stop there. This exotic hardwood is notorious for developing micro splinters, turning a beautiful deck into a prickly nightmare if not properly addressed. To ensure a smooth, enjoyable surface, we meticulously scuffed the entire deck, eliminating rough patches and refining the wood for a flawless finish. For the stain, we turned to RYMAR, a product we trust for its deep penetration and long-lasting protection. Application had to be carefully timed—staining during the cooler parts of the day to ensure proper absorption and avoid any drying inconsistencies. Going the extra mile, we also treated the underside of the support pillars, reinforcing the deck’s protection from all angles.
