This project was a fun one, blending restoration with smart design improvements. While the framing of the deck was in great condition, the supporting posts were failing, requiring a full replacement to ensure long-term structural integrity. Once the foundation was secure, we removed the rotting and failing decking, replacing it with Trex composite decking for a durable, low-maintenance finish. To complete the transformation, we installed Westbury railings, adding a sleek and modern touch that enhances both safety and aesthetics. One of the most exciting upgrades? The homeowners had a concrete slab poured behind their deck the year before, but the original deck design didn’t allow for easy access. To fix this, we built an additional staircase on the back end, seamlessly connecting the deck to the new space and expanding their outdoor living area. Now, they have a fully functional, upgraded deck that makes the most of their backyard—perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying every square foot of their outdoor space.
